Blue Pool

Bluepool 2

A natural rockpool which fills from the ocean and is fashioned into an olympic length swimming pool and adjoining childs pool. In the summer it’s hard to image a better place to swim a few laps or practice snorkelling. Located at the end of the Bermagui Headland – go to the end of the main street and continue around the top of the headland. Best time to visit the Blue Pool is before lunch as the nearby cliff throws the pool into shadow after lunchtime.

Camel Rock

Camel Rock

At first sight it’s easy to see how Camel Rock got its name. Five minutes drive north of Bermagui, Camel Rock towers on the beach front as a striking rock formation which really does look like a camel from just about every direction. It adds interest to what is a very pleasant and popular swimming beach. You could be excused for thinking someone in the area really had a camel fixation, since the area not only has Camel Rock, but also names such as Mt Dromedary and little Dromedary nearby. Dromedary in fact was named by Captain Cook from the sea.

Shop in Tilba

Tilba shops

The National Trust Village of Central Tilba makes an interesting day out. The charming village, nestled in the foothills of Mt Dromedary (Gulaga) and designated as an alpine coastal village, features the charm and simplicity of the original cottages now over 100 years old.

A remnant of architecture from the earliest settlements. The town now offers many interesting art and craft shops with newer buildings matching in with the materials and architecture of the original dwellings.
