Welcome, and thank you for visiting our web site. The following background is for those
who are perhaps considering using our agency and would like to gain a more "in depth" or
personal view of our agency.
We're a NSW South Coast Real Estate agency with Bermagui, Tanja, Tilba, Cobargo and Quaama as our primary service areas.
We are real estate agents who market coastal properties, rural properties, vacant land, townhouses, houses and holiday
houses for sale in these areas. We also manage holiday lettings and provide permanent rental
property management services throughout the NSW South Coast region.

ABOUT US - SERVICES AND VALUES
Marshall and Tacheci Real Estate (Robert Tacheci Real Estate Pty Ltd), established in 1979, is
Bermagui's longest established real estate agency. We are also Bermagui's largest agency in
real estate sales, numbers of property managements and holiday lettings.
Various members of the staff have ranked amongst Australia's top real estate achievers (see staff
section for details) and we have a track record of sales success for all types and prices of
property. Robert Tacheci has earned a reputation as a prestige and beachfront specialist and
we are the only agent in our area to have achieved (numbers of) sales of properties in the over
$1,000,000 category (written October 2003).
Because this office has successfully traded through a number of cycles of "boom and bust" we can
offer a unique level of expert local advice for all types of markets.
We are committed to "client benefit based" strategies. That means putting the client's long term
good ahead of our own short term profit. Advice given will not recommend any industry practices
that are geared to favour the agent rather than the client. We have stringent requirements for
staff to attend regular training on the subject of "ethics" and "client benefit" based marketing.
The combination of highly trained professionalism, ethics, and old fashioned "country town" service
is the hallmark of our business to which our whole team is committed.

Robert Tacheci - Proprietor and Licensee

Robert started his real estate career at age 18 when he joined his father's Canberra based
real estate agency Lyneham, Tacheci and Whyte. At age 21 Robert became the youngest agent in
Canberra to be registered to be able to operate a real estate business in his own right.
In 1979 at the age of 24, Robert moved to Bermagui.
He has been amongst the top achievers in his industry. In the years that his business traded as
LJ Hooker Bermagui, Robert's achievements included 1st prize in the LJ Hooker Annual State Awards
for the "Highest Number of Exclusive Agencies" and 5th in the State for the "Highest Number of
Sales".
In 1995 Robert achieved Gold Badge status in the Jenman Winners Circle (a group which represents
the top 2% of all agents Australia wide).
Robert maintains a reputation for handling specialised prestige and beachfront properties (and
has been called on to handle larger sales all the way from Merimbula to Gerringong).
Robert lives with his wife Katrina and daughter Natalya. He is a member of the Four Winds
Festival Committee (a classical music festival that is held in Bermagui biennially).

HISTORY
The company in it's current form started in 1979. It evolved out of a branch of a family
business, Lyneham, Tacheci and Whyte, that was started by Robert's father, George Jiri Tacheci.
For the first eight years the business traded as Robert Tacheci Real Estate. In 1987 the
business was offered the LJ Hooker Franchise for Bermagui (on the NSW South Coast) and for the period of 13 years the
firm traded as LJ Hooker Bermagui. The association with LJ Hooker during this time benefited
the company in its growth and professionalism.
After 13 years Robert found that his business, LJ Hooker Bermagui, was increasingly doing
training outside of the normal franchise training of subjects like vendor paid advertising
and auction techniques. He was instead studying "ethics" and "client benefit" strategies
with bodies like the Jenman Group. Robert recognised that if the company was to continue
to develop in the way he wished it to, it had to do so under it's own unique identity.
At a special office meeting the team agreed their enthusiastic support of these ideals.
On 21st July 2001 the new trading identity of Marshall and Tacheci real estate was
launched at an opening party attended by over one hundred well wishers.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Thankyou to my father George Jiri Tacheci who, having escaped from Czechoslovakia and two
oppressive regimes -the Nazi's then the communists, had always wanted to provide the opportunity
for his son to have the freedom of operating his own independent business. George Died on 20
October 2001.
To those various business partners who shared the ownership with me during those early
years through good markets and bad, Geoff Bryan, Greg Crisp, Ray Henderson and Derek Russell.
